Tradition, Insights, and Current Challenges

An issue currently relevant to the purpose of this website; in fact that which inspired me to develop it, is one plaguing my parish.  Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Bloomington, IL is a financially viable parish, sharing the local area with 2 other parishes.  Bishop Luis Tylka is currently considering combining the 3 parishes, and closing the historic Holy Trinity church. Pope Francis's Synod of Synodality proposal is essentially for churches to journey together, with clergy leading the faith, and lay men and women leading the parish governance. I feel this consideration of Bishop Tylka's is counter to Pope Francis's Synod of Synodality.
